One of the fortunate changes that took place in the Wyoming Medicaid program as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic was that folks enrolled in Medicaid did not have to reenroll each year. 正常情况下, Medicaid enrollees have to reapply and have this application accepted each year in order to maintain their Medicaid health coverage. This pandemic-based policy is coming to an end. Roughly 1/12th of the current Wyoming Medicaid population will receive a letter each month, beginning in March 2023, making them aware that if they do not reapply, or their recently submitted application is rejected, they will lose their Medicaid benefits in 60 days.
The most immediate thing we can do to make sure this process goes as smoothly as possible is to encourage all of our friends and family on Medicaid to call the Wyoming Medicaid Program to make sure they have accurate contact information on file (1-855-294-2127). This way they are made aware that they need to reapply.
You or your organization could also:
- Write a social media post reminding folks on Medicaid to call 855-294-2127 to verify their contact info.
- 分享 this write up or something similar in your company or organization’s newsletter.
Tens of thousands of people are in danger of losing coverage. The good news…many will qualify for other low-priced health insurance options including 健康 Insurance Marketplace or job-based insurance plans. Enroll Wyoming, is a great resource to have on hand throughout this process. They are a grant-funded Wyoming organization specializing in working with folks to find health coverage solutions that work for each individual (family) and their situation. Enroll Wyoming is also available to provide one-on-one, face-to-face help with both Medicaid and Marketplace applications. The easiest way to ask for help is to call 211 and ask for an Enroll Wyoming 健康 Insurance Navigator. All services are free and they do not have quotas, sales goals or work on commission.
